At Seaside Fresh Lobster & Seafood Ltd., every catch has its own story.
We descend from the Mi'kmaq, whose connection to the ocean goes back thousands of years. For our people, fishing has always been tied to history, ceremony, and community, not only survival.
During the fishing rights struggle of the early 2000s, our community came together to seek recognition rather than confrontation. Today we fish peacefully and together, respecting tradition while we grow.

Our connection to the ocean is an ancient inheritance, passed down over thousands of years. Our ancestors lived in balance with the land and waters and treated every resource with deep respect. We carry that way of life into our business. For us, valuing lobster is more than sustainable harvesting. It is an ongoing act of respect, and we are committed to better conservation, clean oceans, and responsible stewardship.
The waters off New Brunswick's northeastern coast are among the clearest in Canada, with up to 25 feet of visibility on a calm day. Rocky reefs give lobsters shelter, food, and breeding grounds, and protect them from predators and strong currents. Clean, cold, oxygen-rich water produces healthy, flavourful lobsters. Here, location truly matters.

We set our traps on natural rocky reefs in the cold, clear waters off northeastern New Brunswick, within Mi'kmaq traditional territory. We harvest sustainably and keep our practices honest.

Our waters run from Esgenoopetitj First Nation through Tracadie and Pokemouche toward Lamèque Island. The reefs here are living ecosystems, and on a calm day you see up to 25 feet down through the clear water.
